The American Federation of Freelance Interior Designers (AFFID) today announced the official launch of its web site, www.affid.org. Located in metro Washington, D.C., AFFID is ideally situated to give voice in the halls of government to experienced professional residential interior designers whose right to practice is under determined assault by special interests that seek to limit competition in the interior design trade.
AFFID will grant full membership in the association to interior designers whose work, as demonstrated by completed projects, passes peer review. AFFID and its members will work to prevent the passing of state laws that deny interior designers the right to practice through restrictions on free expression. AFFID will also implement member service programs that provide members with access to health and liability insurance programs that meet their unique needs.
AFFID promotes the proposition that free and fair competition among interior designers is the surest way to give consumers meaningful choice at every price level in their selection of a design professional.
